Abstract:
In nowadays economy, an organization’s intellectual capital is considered to be a source of competitive advantage and there is evidence that business success can be partly explained by its intellectual capital. Knowledge is a very important source for people, companies and countries. Managing knowledge and intellectual capital creates new sources of competitive advantage for the organization, no matter its profile.
One of the characteristics of contemporary organizations in their clear ambition to develop performance management practices. Traditional financial statements do not provide the relevant information for managers to understand how their resources, many of them –intangible, to create value in the future, so intellectual capital is an important value driver in today’s organization performance.
In this paper we outline the reasons for reporting intellectual capital and present the case our organization - “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu, Romania.Keywords:
