Technology plays a significant role in supporting the development of reading, grammar, spelling, writing, and communication skills in adult literacy education. Many adult learners return to education with gaps in these areas, and digital tools provide structured, accessible, and supportive ways to rebuild confidence and competence.

Reading development is enhanced through assistive technologies. Tools such as Seeing AI convert printed text into spoken words using a smartphone camera. This enables learners to access books, forms, and everyday written materials that may otherwise be difficult to engage with. Listening to text while following along visually strengthens word recognition, pronunciation, and comprehension. This multi-sensory approach is particularly beneficial for learners who experience reading difficulties.

Immersive Reader further supports reading and grammar development. It presents text in a clear and accessible format and reads it aloud at an adjustable pace.
