Abstract:
The process of selection of students for the Official Master on Quantitative techniques for business management at the University of Granada (Spain) is partially based on the information obtained from a survey among the applicants. Required information in this survey includes the type of knowledge that students would like to acquire while studying the Master. In particular, students are required to evaluate between 1 and 5 different knowledge’s dimensions: theoretical, practical and computational. The aim of this study is to compare the different types of knowledge in which students are interested.
Nowadays practical knowledge, specifically computational skills and capabilities are required. An appropriate training on practical skills must be offered to enable students to apply theoretical concepts to real life. According to their interests, specific applied sessions could be organized. Results derived from this study could be useful for future students of this Master and also for students of similar Masters. Keywords:
