Abstract:
This study is in a line of educational innovation aimed at developing actions of reception and guidance to university students, understanding that it is necessary to know the characteristics and needs of the student body for a good effectiveness of the programs. This study aims to analyze the evaluation of two different mentoring programs (peer tutoring group and breakfast meeting group) in between and with respect to a control group in some personal variables (stress, self.efficacy and optimism) and contextual ones (social climate, satisfaction with university.

participants are 170 first year students, of which 43 were boys and 127 girls, all of them from he Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy of the University of Malaga.

The results indicate that there is a significant difference between the mentoring students and the control group, with greater satisfaction with the university for those who have participated in mentoring activities. Regarding the comparison of the two mentoring programs, the results indicate that there are no differences in effectiveness, but the breakfast meeting group is evalujated as more appropriate. Resutls are used to ameliorate the activities to plan every year for promoting adaptation of new students.
