The university school of nursing focuses its university model on innovation and entrepreneurship. In order to make it possible, we have initiated a program called “Open Thinking” which is made for fourth grade students of nursing. This is an innovating nursing program that allows to develop an enterprising idea related to health. These studies are very important to generate services and innovated products with social value at the nursing profession and at the same time to generate business.
Objectives:

The program consists of five phases, the first three phases are performed in the university school environment where the specific theoretical and practical training, preparation and presentation of the entrepreneurial project are delivered. The last two phases are developed in collaboration with our partners (business school EsadeCreapolis, Salto con Red, Biocat, Aces, Fundació Sant Cugat Actiu, Chapter 2.0 i world wide Vita) and the projects are selected for their innovation and market viability .The last step begins with the mentoring process.

The Open Thinking program begun in the 2012-2013 course and has raised 140 students of fourth grade of nursing. Once phase I, II and III were completed during the course 2012-2013 and 2013-2014, 30 projects had been undertaken and 16 of them were selected as the most innovative, creative and sustainable projects in the healthcare environment. 14 of these 16 projects began receiving Phase IV training with "Salto con Red" and finally 7 projects reached the Phase V "Mentoring" at the hands of Fundació Sant Cugat actiu, Yuzz Program, La Cambra de Comerç de Terrassa and world wide Vita.

We consider a great success that some of these innovated projects can be undertaken in the world of business. Teachers and partners involved in the project have been crucial in the development and consolidation of the "Open Thinking" program.
