Abstract:
For successful learning, students need to feel emotionally balanced. The recent years have demonstrated the importance of this, as well as called upon teachers to offer them even more guidance and support. In this presentation we analyse some basic constituents in providing a good learning environment, both on-line and live. Important apects in student self-confidence, including their integrity, self belief, time management and planning as well as different components of self-efficacy, group-dynamics and confidene building will be discussed. We review relevant research in psychology as a background, and discuss and bring examples from our own practice of university teaching both online and in the classroom, including foreign students and local ones.Keywords:
