Abstract:
Modern trends in Russian education are very different from trends in past decades. The role of a teacher has changed: now they are more of an assistant and a conductor of knowledge, rather than a strict mentor. The teacher also faces other tasks: to return live communication, lost during the coronavirus pandemic and replaced by online mode, to the classroom. We need to change the content of lessons, as students should be interested in classes, new knowledge and skills should arouse their curiosity and desire to learn new things every day. Assignments must be structured in such a way that the students do not simply perceive the educational material, but actively participate in the educational process. Students are often distracted from the lesson by various stimuli. One such thing is personal electronic gadgets. We suggest including short video clips about the topic of the lesson in order to distract students from using personal electronic devices in a classroom.

The article examines ways to increase the efficiency of the educational process in an interpreting class, namely, through supporting and motivating students to study. This can be achieved by a combination of different teaching methods and techniques, such as language tasks, speech tasks, complex tasks and projects close to life situations. These tasks can be used both as homework and in class. The results of this work may be used at lessons of interpreting in universities.
