Abstract:

The technological 21st century requires the mediation of digital media in every sphere of public life, including the educational process. This is especially true for the millennial students who are a new generation of learners, who have grown up with technology. In the new information environment, the implementation of digital platforms and specialized software is of utmost importance.

The idea of the present study is to detail the way in which the description of the library collection of the largest monastery library in Bulgaria (so far, not described bibliographically) can be mediated by implementing digital tools to be used by students to solve certain cases in book and bibliographic disciplines. Thus, the theoretical knowledge will be directly related to the application and the creativity potential of the digital opportunities. The traditional research methods of working with books in situ and de visu will be carried out in parallel with the identification of publications from digital bookstores and, as a result, will create a digital platform of publications out of the library collection.

The method, by combining traditional research path with technological tools and specialized software, will adapt and integrate the digital-born generations into future research cases, preparing them for a highly productive learning process.
