Abstract:
Relevance of the issue under study is due to the low level of motivation of modern Russian schoolchildren to learn English. Despite the large number of anglicisms in the Russian language, Russian pupils face difficulties in memorizing English vocabulary and its application in foreign language communication, and also in the absence of interest in learning a foreign language. This fact contributed to the development of a system of virtual pedagogical technologies that were used at the formative stage of the experiment in English lessons at the Russian school. The aim of the study is to analyze the possibilities of virtual educational environment in the Russian school in the study of English. The article presents the results of an experiment on the introduction of online technologies in the educational process and their impact on the change of students ' interest in the English language. The authors concluded that techniques for effective online teaching emphasize learner centeredness. If students feel they are part of a community of learners, they are more apt to be motivated to seek solutions to their problems and to succeed in language learning. The article may be useful for lecturers and for self-education of the general public.
