Abstract:
In today’s globalized world, effective communication is a key component to building trust and rapport in all settings, including healthcare. In clinical contexts, communication is a core professional competence that impacts successful clinical outcomes, promotes diagnostic precision, and enhances patient satisfaction. Hence, it serves as an essential element of quality care. The paper aims to explore the distinctive features of clinical communication by analyzing existing literature in healthcare communication, emphasizes the results of poor communication that leads to reduced openness, diminished trust, and weakened adherence to treatment. The findings underline that effective communication is fundamental to reduce barriers and improve the relationship between patients and healthcare professionals. By addressing the crucial role of communication in clinical settings, the article examines the importance of attending to all communicative dimensions to improve clinical outcomes, increase empathy and minimize potential obstacles.
