Abstract:
The Bologna Declaration has implemented changes on the way that students are expected to acquire the knowledge. Although the Professor was once the provider of said knowledge, now the teacher needs to become a mentor whose role is to help the students to learn how to learn on their own. Besides, subjects are usually taught independently from one another, even though the knowledge they provide is not separated, and will need to be connected in the mind of the students once they enter a working environment.

With that new role in mind, our aim is to design a pedagogical strategy that, together with the methodology of flipped learning, will allow the students to integrate the knowledge acquired and learn on their own. As they will prepare and present lessons to the whole class, that will require them to keep in mind knowledge they have acquired in previous years or in the year in which they are now. Besides, students will also face questions that need to be related to other subjects they have or are studying and thus, they will be able to acquire a knowledge interrelation skill. Within the presentation of the classes the professors will include the questions that need to be answered by the students. With a Virtual Classroom Response System, the students will answer the question and after the professor will give the correct answer and the explanation. The question will be multi- and interdisciplinary so that the students will relate the knowledge from different subjects. Throughout the course the presentations given by the professors will emphasize the multidisciplinary angle and through the presentations given by the students they will learn to connect the knowledge they possess.

The skills they acquire with this methodology will help them in their future working environment in order solve the challenges they face, integrating all the learned knowledge. Finally, as they will be taught to learn on their own, they will be able to solve any specific problem that requires to use information that they do not possess or that could not be anticipated when they studied.
