Abstract:
The aim of this study is to determine the perspectives of students on the value of feedback from TVET College lecturers in entrepreneurship education classes. Assessment has an important effect on student learning because the two concepts are interrelated. Teaching methods must be aligned with assessment methods and learning goals to enhance teaching effectiveness. Assessment contributes tremendously to the quality of learning and has an influence on the ways students perceive learning. The study is guided by participatory action research. Participatory action research combines theory and practice, action and reflection with the participation of stakeholders who seek practical solutions to the problem affecting their community, creating an ideal platform for those communities to provide solution to the problem. The team of researchers included two lecturers, two students, a local businessman, a head of department, and a learning facilitator. The data was generated through a series of informal discussions, formal meetings, and workshops facilitated by experts. The findings reveal that TVET College lecturers do not value feedback as an important part of effective assessment for their students. The study concludes that an intervention with lecturers was needed to enhance their knowledge on the value of feedback on assessment. The appropriate strategies were formulated for the lecturers, where all stakeholders affected were involved. Keywords:
