Many literatures have devoted time and effort for the investigation of the impact of personality variables on the acceptance of new technologies in education especially the acceptance and engagement in online learning. Generally, the investigation of self-efficacy (as a personality variable) is a variable paucity of investigations. For this, the current study, examined the levels of self-efficacy among two samples of 112 students engaged in conventional and virtual courses in Shiraz Payam-e-Noor University. The results show that the level of self-efficacy among virtual students (M=4.02) is higher than its level among conventional students (M=2.95). Analysis of variance (ANOVA) also was conducted to determine whether significant differences in self-efficacy existed among two groups of survey. The results showed that the difference between these two levels of self-efficacy is statistically significant and meaningful.
