Abstract:
The world of teaching and learning has completely changed. The Corona virus pandemic has shaken the world, our way of living and of communicating. The institutions of learning have been heavily affected and instructors were forced to develop new pedagogies, new teaching tools, new approaches to learning in a completely virtual world. The complete closure of university campuses that happened overnight did not allow for in-depth preparation for the transformation of in-class teaching to completely online delivery.

This paper focuses on this abrupt transition from in-class to completely online teaching and on identifying positive experiences gained from this challenging period. What at first, felt like a very difficult task, became a source of discovery and improvement to be carried over when some sense of normality will be restored. For example, frequent online quizzes, team projects and team assignments are activities that have proven to be very positive in the virtual environment and will be carried over. There are many lessons learned during this period to improve teaching and learning effectiveness.
