Abstract:
The main objective of the presented project was to develop a methodology to help teachers, from Vocational Education and Training sector, to create online lessons in an efficient and motivational way. Another objective was to mobilize and incentivize Vocational Education and Training educators to take concrete actions for their upskilling and reskilling in the transition from paper to digital education and teaching. These objectives are in line with Vocational Education and Training priorities by contributing to innovation in vocational education and training and increasing its attractiveness. In order to understand the teachers’ practices, it was carried out a survey that intended to analyse the teachers’ perceptions regarding their competencies in online teaching. We obtained data from teachers from Portugal, Bulgaria, Turkey, Cyprus, and Czechia. In this paper, we’ll present the main conclusions of the questionnaire and also our perspective on a methodology to develop online classes in this sector. This methodology is already developed and it’s being tested by teachers in the referred countries. Regarding the questionnaire results, the main conclusions of this study are that teachers reported that they spend more time preparing online classes and they have poor specific training in distance learning and difficulties in applying e-learning in Vocational Education and Training.
