Abstract:
Social networks are today used by students both in communication with friends and with teachers. The purpose of this paper was to find out what their most important effects are on the feedback expected by the teacher from the student. Therefore, we have firstly analyzed several aspects of the positive and negative feedback of the systems in general and of the communication in particular, as they are presented in the literature.

Secondly, we have presented some concrete situations that may occur during the classes in a university, situations involving the use of social networks by students and that definitely affect the feedback of the teacher – student communication. This second part of the paper is partly based on real cases from a technical faculty and partly on previous research made by specialists.

Thirdly, we have selected several results of an ample research that has targeted the use of social networking by students. We have conducted this research during the last five academic years at “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu, Romania. Among other things, we have found that the active involvement of students in this research helped them to acquire the marketing concepts more quickly than the classical or on-line teaching of this subject matter.

The conclusions of the paper summarize the most interesting effects that social networks have on the student-teacher communication feedback at the classes.
