Abstract:
RefComTIC is an interactive manual that focus to meet the needs of the faculty, specifically those involved in results-oriented curricular innovation. It aims to help the strengthening of those competencies associated with Information Technology and Communication (ICT). The use of RefComTIC contemplates the development on students of the transversal competences associated to the professional profile of the undergraduate at our University. It also eases the management of new ICT related curricular changes, policy and activities of the University. At the level of curricular changes support is given to the management and updating of contents associated with transversal competences and ICT educational activities for teachers, given the ease an automated system allows for the modification of its content. At the level of university policies and concerning transversal competences, the manual assists in the process of remembering, including and keeping professors updated on this area. These features correlate with sustainable digital inclusion (SDI), the general model that supports the development strategy and usability of the manual, as professors require support in strengthening their ICT competences associated with their subjects, while also learning how ICT mediated activities contribute to this matter covered by the program of their subject. At the level of ICT didactical activities, it allows orientating the use of resources to strengthen both the pedagogical strategies and the development and strengthening of ICT competences of the teacher itself, and in turn the collaboration among them. In addition to the outlined above, the capacity of the interactive manual to contribute to social knowledge management by influencing the axis of curricular innovation and mediate with the strengthening of the other competences of the professional profile, one of which is social responsibility, is highlighted. In this regard we advance to meet the challenge of raising awareness of ethical and moral values that should guide users of digital technologies. It is shown that the use of ICT skills in a digital environment that facilitates the reinforcement of a minimum of transferable skills, to strength transversal competences, is feasible. Drupal has been selected as the development environment, allowing the generation of automated systems by including metadata in every part of the process, allowing the finding of meaningful relationships in content and applications. This digital tool also is open source, which helps with the development and improvement by the contributions of the open source community, and finally, facilitates its use by not requiring the acquisition of licenses by teacher users. As a technological solution, it could be an ideal tool for the construction of digital content, lecture notes, exercise guides among others.
