SERIOUS GAME TO SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL CHOICE SELECTION: A DECISION TREE-BASED PROPOSAL

Abstract:
The student dropout rate in Brazilian universities is around 38.2%. In fact, 80% of students are unaware of the practice of career guidance. 80% of the students who taking the Vocational Guidance process report that they would change of university course. The practice of vocational guidance, also known as vocational guidance, consists of a facilitator process for choosing a professional career through self-knowledge and knowledge of the professional reality. This practice has two approaches: statistical (in which the supervisor makes the career direction of guiding) and clinical (in which the supervisor is a facilitator of the career choice process, but the advisee is responsible for making final decision). From this, the objective of the present work was based on the development of a serious support game for professional advisors to perform their activities. This computational application was developed with the Unity3D engine, combined with the C # programming language, and uses puzzle approach combined with elements of immersion and engagement. Because of the serious game rely on decision-making by the user, the application includes a decision tree algorithm based on 18REST, consisting of an short version of RIASEC test Holland. From this, it is sought, through artificial intelligence, to enable the identification of the player's professional tendency, offering another subsidy to compose the professional career selection process.Keywords:
