Abstract:
Higher Education continues to rapidly evolve with the advancement of Technology. Not only is information available under a click of a button, but the demand on both learners and Faculty has increased in the use and application thereof. This paper focuses on the processes required in the assesment of intended learning outcomes, and the capturing of these assessments, as a means of quality assurance in higher education. It focuses firstly on issues regarding the accreditaion of programmes, quality assurance processes and then more specifically on the system of analysing ILOs as a means of improving teaching and learning. The paper suggests that with advanced technology, cognisance has not been taken of the demands placed on the Faculty members who as academics, are increasingly involved in administrative tasks, rather than business of teaching and learning, community engagement and research.
