THE PROCESS OF READING IN THE HIGHER EDUCATION: A DIDACTIC EXPERIENCE APPLIED TO CHILDREN IN PRIMARY EDUCATION

The process of reading for young students in present time shows uniformity in terms of literary patterns which have shown that the process of reading is an essential tool in the formation of the children. In fact, schools in which reading are developed as standard practice is doing better than those without. It is a challenge and an opportunity of the teachers to promote the reading process improving the reading skills of children in Primary education. We have to change the idea of teaching Literature, especially the process of reading in basic education. It is not just a practical tool in our daily life, but also a form of entertainment and enjoyment for children. Through this research, children will be able to develop their cognitive, emotional, social, moral and creative competences.

Once the presentation of the reading teaching process by competences is made, an example of an interdisciplinary experience on the 3ยบ degree of teaching of Primary education is presented. This activity of reading was carried out within the framework of the pilot experiences with children of seven and eight years. The investigation expresses, among other aspects, the reading concept and the didactic agreements respect to the last literary theories and to the theoretic and critical approaches that have influenced in the Didactic of Literature. For this reason, the aim of this research is to study and analyze the treatment of the contents of the subject on this area of knowledge using the reading process from the point of view of constructivist perspective.
