Abstract:
This presentation showcases the results of an educational research initiative aimed at elevating the scientific competence of vocational education students in the field of clinical laboratory and biomedicine. Specifically, the students involved in this study were enrolled in the vocational education program of Clinical Laboratory and Biomedical Technician. Through the implementation of inquiry-based learning methodologies, students actively participated in conducting research projects, culminating in the creation and presentation of scientific posters. The research projects focused on topics relevant to the students' vocational education, allowing them to apply the knowledge acquired in their academic training to real and concrete situations. The outcome of these efforts resulted in a notable enhancement of students' scientific competence, as evidenced by their increased motivation, academic performance, and digital and linguistic skills. Students acquired skills in information search and analysis, hypothesis formulation, experiment design and execution, and results presentation. Additionally, the project fostered teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills. The success of this initiative serves as a testament to the potential of research projects to significantly impact and elevate the scientific competencies of vocational education students, preparing them for future academic and professional endeavors.
