Abstract:
In the period 2007-2009 Foundation MCR (Museo Civico di Rovereto) was involved in TERECoP European project cooperating with partners of 6 nations in performing and organizing teacher training courses in the North-East of Italy to introduce in high schools Educational Robotics activities based on LEGO Mindstorms NXT platform.
In 2009 has installed a Lego Education Innovation Studio [LEIS] accessible to everybody. Each Saturday of all the year are organized Educational Robotics activities for young people divided by age, in the rest of the week-end people could use an educational LEGO Mindstorms kit and realize their own activities. During the week the center and its know-how is at disposal of schools and teachers who can ask for lessons or project in Educational Robotics, or consultancy in preparing their activities. The LEIS organized every year activities of teacher training with periodical consultancy for the trainees. Since 2012 the Museum organizes the National FIRST LEGO League Tournaments.
The paper analyzes the effects of these 7 years of activities on the diffusion of Educational Robotics in the Region of Trentino-Sudtirol and all over Italy, emphasizing the influence decisions taken by public and private educational institutions. the data show, in fact, a progressive increase in the activities of educational robotics, but you have to find the right relationship with FLL and LEIS.Keywords:
