Abstract:
Student motivation is a determining factor for success in the classroom, yet various motivational attitudes are often observed among students, requiring personalized pedagogical strategies.
This article presents a model for student profiling based on three well-known psychological theories: Deci and Ryan's Self-Determination Theory, Weiner's Attribution Theory, and Bandura's Social-Cognitive Theory.
The model identifies four types of students, determined through three key criteria – the source of motivation, attribution of success or failure, and the level of self-regulation. Motivational profiles were identified through a combination of direct teacher observations and responses to a questionnaire with a set number of questions.
The profiles described guide teachers on how to adapt teaching to the individual characteristics of students. The goal is to achieve more effective student engagement and achieve more sustainable educational outcomes. The article tracks and evaluates the development of students' motivational types over three school years. Keywords:
