Abstract:
The adaptation of the plans of study of the Spanish universities to the European Space of Higher Education is originating didactic innovative methodologies, in which the student is the protagonist of his process of education - learning. The main objective of teaching and learning should be the development of both specific and generic competencies.

In this work it is presented the educational experience realized with the students of the subject of Chemistry I of the first course, of the qualifications of Industrial Engineer, and inside a process of Education - learning with continuous assessment, there has been promoted the development of different competitions by means of the accomplishment of works in equipment and later oral exhibition on chemical phenomena illustrated in the daily industrial or domestic life. The result of the experience has been very satisfactory, specially in the application of the fundamental concepts to the industrial and daily life in general, as well as in the development of transverse competitions, as the capacity of collaboration that it needs to be employed at equipment, critical reasoning, capacity of synthesis and oral expression for the students.
