Abstract:
A well-developed trip or travel in its different areas and elements, correctly integrated into an academic itinerary of comprehensive training, can really be a turning point for participating students, for the following reasons:
1. It is a living experience capable of touching the heart of the student, where learning remains a greater impact, because of its experiential component that encompasses most of the dimensions of the person.
2. It is a limited period of time, generally not very long, that eases an intense formative and existential experience that many times it´s not possible in other moments of the academic trajectory of the university student.
3. It is a reality that allows us to get out of the day-to-day, the ordinary and routine world of classroom training, where the geographical component, changing the scope “spatially”, allows us to delve into concepts, theories, and ideas that maybe you can develop in the classroom, and in your own life outside the classes.
4. It is a paradigmatic experience as an educational tool.
We have focused on the impact of the educational trips integrated into the academic program of the students of computer science and engineering. We are carrying out interviews to students of engineering and the initial analysis shows that the students have enhanced their identity with their group, and they have increased their motivation to deal with their degree. Finally, we are detecting that the students have learned and developed other soft skills that will help them during their career. Keywords:
