Abstract:
Technology presently plays important role in assist teaching and learning process. Information Age has transformed education system rapidly and caused the demand of using technology such as internet in teaching and learning become common practice in education today. Video on Demand (VoD) is one of the applications providing extra features in terms of learning via online. As learning online becomes more important in education, video streaming also play a biggest role as an alternative medium for delivery course material and knowledge acquisition in the fastest and effective ways. This form of technology has brings ubiquitous learning and allowed learners to learn complex concepts and difficult procedures more lively in an interesting ways. Thus, this paper examines the effect of streaming video based learning usage amongst students in order to fulfill student’s needs in learning activities. VoD is seen as one of the alternative in teaching and learning process to engage students and to achieve effective learning amongst students which using student-centered learning by taking into account their preferred learning styles, i.e. Visual, Auditory or Kinesthetic (VAK). Besides, this paper also tries to determine if video streaming learning is able to be applied in teaching and learning of Malaysian technical and vocational schools. This research based on the findings of a questionnaire survey to a total number of 300 students.
