Abstract:
Educational system in Malaysia has been through dynamic transformation. The Ministry of Education of Malaysia has introduced and encouraged the use of ICT in enhancing the teaching and learning approach in mainstream schooling in Malaysia. This paper discusses the feasibility of utilizing mobile Facebook in accounting studies in secondary schools in Malaysia. It describes the learning module that is proposed to be implemented as an additional tool for out of school hours. The paper discusses the justifications of utilizing Facebook generally and mobile Facebook specifically in an educational context. The paper compares and contrasts related studies from educational researchers globally, including Malaysia. The issues and challenges in the realization of mobile Facebook in education is also discussed before concluding the paper. In conclusion, there are possibilities to implement mobile Facebook in mainstream schooling in Malaysia, however, various challenges need to be addressed in making it a reality.
