Abstract:
The labor market demands specialists with interdisciplinary skills, adaptable to various work contexts, capable of quickly acquiring methods and techniques based on advanced technologies. In the field of engineering, students are encouraged to participate in various activities, complementary to the study program they attend, that develop the aforementioned skills.
The assessment in study programs designed in the paradigm of the European qualifications framework focuses on a set of predefined LOs. The introduction of micro-credentials makes the evaluation process more flexible and, at the same time, gives students the opportunity to capitalize on the labor market the results of partial learning. the identification of micro credentials brings added value to the study program.
An innovative approach in engineering education is developed within the EELISA project in which the students are involved in training and research activities within communities oriented towards specific Sustainable Development Goals. The European Engineering Learning Innovation and Science Alliance, EELISA, brings together eight universities from seven different countries, with the aim of promoting a model European engineer and architect combining technical competence and societal impact. Problem owners, stakeholders, professionals and entire universities are members of EELISA communities designed to tackle social challenges with engineering solutions that are set up from multidisciplinary perspectives
The evaluation of the learning results obtained by students in this type of activities is done through an evaluation system based on EELISA badges and credentials. The challenges we want to solve are related to the harmonization of national accreditation systems and the recognition of learning acquisitions by the labor market. The inclusion of interdisciplinary, innovative, non-curricular activities in the course of the students is pursued. Keywords:
