Abstract:
Introduction:
Visual culture represents a cultural content for visual perception, thus creating an information resource for integrating a people into culture. Mediated by the value-semantic sphere of the creative person constructing artifacts, visual culture becomes a mechanism for the development of people’s worldview. In this regard, on the one hand, subjects of visual culture become authors who consciously build ideological and semantic models of visual artifacts in images, and on the other hand, viewers who visually perceive and adequately understand the content of visual images of culture.
Methodology:
The most important goal of visual culture is the enrichment of the inner world of the individual and students in particular through the impact of visual images. At the same time, learners discover their creative abilities needed to create new visual objects. Among the main results of the development of visual culture, one can note the presence of a developed culture of image perception, which is based on their complete analysis, comparison, evaluation, interpretation and the creation of new individualized educational and creative products based on them. Such an explanation characterizes the high level of personality culture, which is defined by scientists as the quality and degree of expression of the value content of the personality.
Presentation:
The creation of a digital model for studying and increasing the visual cultural memory of students in a university environment in the form of an electronic platform is one of the promising ways to preserve a part of the cultural memory of educational institutions and to reveal interesting facts and stories to the general public about the people who created this memory – personalities of the 20th and 21st centuries who left their mark on world history. The conclusion is that visual culture, as an integral part of the educational process, is a necessary condition for entering the socio-cultural space. Raising a high level of visual culture in the modern informational and technically saturated society is one of the necessary components of the formation of a person’s general and professional culture, and it is desirable that this process starts from the person as a student, even better so from the school bench.
Results:
Within the project “A Digital Model for Research and Raising the Visual Cultural Memory in a University Environment” (ФНИ КП-06-М55/3 dated 22.11.2021) won by the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies (ULSIT) in Bulgaria, an attempt will be made to create a model for developing the visual culture of students on the basis of creating and integrating an electronic platform as part of the memory and history of the higher school gathered on the pages of the Honorary Book of ULSIT. A step towards the creation of a successful digital model for visual cultural memory is the research, systematization and creation of a database including the messages left for future generations by scientists, writers, heads of international organizations, as well as representatives of the political and cultural elite in Bulgaria and abroad having visited the university on the occasion of scientific events, anniversaries, signing of cooperation contracts, as well as when receiving the honorary titles “Doctor Honoris Causa” and “Honorary Professor of ULSIT”.Keywords:
