Abstract:
This paper describes the current status and issues of information technology (IT) education in the People's Republic of Bangladesh (hereinafter referred to as "Bangladesh"), a country with remarkable development in the Asian region. We also describe the effects of introducing our unique educational method, Hanpuku (iterative) Learning, to prepare students for the English translation of the Information Technology Engineers Examination (ITEE), which is a national certificate originating in Japan. Moreover, the paper shows the excellence of the young generation in Bangladesh, which aims to become an IT nation, and proposes a possibility that would benefit both Japan, which faces a shortage of young workers due to its low birthrate and aging population, and Bangladesh, where it is difficult to find attractive jobs for graduates of higher education due to the population explosion.

The authors conducted activities related to ITEE diffusion and guidance in Bangladesh from 2015 to 2019. We visited many universities, especially in Dhaka city, to explain the importance and the impact of ITEE and succeeded in extremely increasing the number of students who passed this exam. As a result, the introduction of the ITEE was effective, and it can be judged that the Japanese style of Hanpuku Learning was adapted to the temperament of the Bangladeshi people and sustainable learning habits took root in the country. Finally, our efforts were officially recognized by the local government, and it has been decided that the program will be introduced into the curriculum of the computer science department of several universities in this country.
