Abstract:
The European Chemistry Thematic Network created in 1996 and its non-profit Association ECTNA [www.ectna-assoc.org], are working and contributing in building the European Higher Education Area. Actions are dedicated towards chemistry education promotion (chemistry sciences, quality teaching, industrial placements, student’s mobility, etc…).

At the conference we will present an update on the recent activities and developments of ECTNA, with a special focus on:
* EChemTest [www.echemtest.net] through its new recognition by our partners, the activities of the current Testing Centers and the recent development and potential extension on national markets.
* Quality Eurolabels in Chemistry [www.chemistry-eurolabels.eu], recognized by the EuCheMS, with the dissemination of Eurobachelor® and Euromaster® Labels throughout Europe. The number of awarded institutions is growing: as of September 19, 2008, 45 Eurobachelor® and 19 Euromaster® Chemistry Quality Labels have been awarded in 16 countries, representing 37 institutions and 2 European consortia. Our European partners started their operation in awarding Labels.
* In addition, working groups are involved in current and important thematic fields, and a collaboration of importance with the Chemical Engineering Network must also be mentioned.
