Abstract:
Practically any information presented in a visual way improves one’s understanding of the subject matter being presented, by reaching the audience in a more powerful, engaging way and enhancing memorization. Students in all fields, throughout the learning process and beyond, face difficult challenges in today’s saturated world, making the skill of presentation even more critical, to go above and beyond, to stand-out, whether in the form of self-presentation, varied projects, personal achievement or research results.

Insufficient knowledge in the fields of art, composition and aesthetics, result in significant gaps when composing harmonious and consistent visual, infographic and presentation materials. New technologies and applications such as Canva, Padlet and Piktochart, to name a few, can and should be leveraged to diminish these gaps. The use of such tools has tremendous potential in helping to understand the basics of graphic design, and potentially accelerate individuals and students, both personally and professionally.

The aim of the article is to discuss the importance of visual presentation in the modern world of information and to present possible application areas of the discussed applications (ie. Canva, Padlet, Piktochart), in particular as part of a case study for subjects related to economics and management during academic studies. These are very important skills in active teaching in the 21st century, where technological innovation has a huge impact on education.
