Abstract:
The services market in the area of ICT is globalising. The service or the software is a digital product, relatively easy to provide and transfer via the Internet. Polish ICT companies export abroad more and more of their services and software. Globalisation of the market requires appropriately trained specialists, including experts in the use of technical English.

The article puts forward a thesis: software development companies are interested in graduates of computer science in English and are ready to assist both students and universities in these studies. On the basis of the thesis, a number of research hypotheses were defined, which were used to develop a research questionnaire. The questionnaire has been expanded to include questions for determining in which areas of computer science the company needs graduates in English. The research was conducted among software companies during the job fair called Lublin IT Day in 2016 and repeated in 2018. The article presents the results of a comparative study and indicates the noticeable trends. University activities resulting from the results obtained are also discussed.
