Abstract:
Five European universities and ten from Central Asian countries work together within the project ERAMIS co-financed by the Tempus programme. The aim of the project is to develop and implement a Master's degree curriculum in Computer Science (CS). One of the project goals is also to increase the number of classes in English. This is to create conditions for launching in the future Master's studies in English.

The paper presents the research results of the students' willingness and readiness to take a Master's degree in English in the field of CS. The research covered the first three years of undergraduate CS students at the Technological University of Tajikistan. The research methodology previously used for analogous research was developed at the Lublin University of Technology in Poland. The study identified the level of interest in Master’s studies in English, the self-assessment of English, the reasons for interest in such studies and its lack, and the expected benefits after graduating in English. It was also determined what kind of help was expected by students from universities during their possible studies in English.

The results of the research indicate significant differences in willingness and readiness to study English between Polish and Tajik students. Based on them, recommendations have been developed for universities what to do to increase the willingness and readiness of their students to study in English.
