Abstract:
In adult education the important role, according to the David Kolb’s model, plays appeal to students’ previous experience and practical approach. Decision-making simulation games are effectively used to implement the idea of experiential learning in areas related to business. These games, belonging to the group called serious games, allow players to simulate practical actions in conditions close to reality.
Packet of logistic simulation games is presented in this paper. Games were developed as a result of educational project "A new quality of education in the MCSU" financed by European Social Fund. The main objective of this project was to develop postgraduate studies "Management of Logistic Processes". Postgraduate studies are intended for practitioners of logistics as a short and intense form of training during weekends. Games are one of practical elements used in these studies.
The package consists of three games: "Market and competitors analysis", "Supply chain processes" and "Activity Based Costing in logistics processes". A detailed description of the situation of each game, modeled phenomena and the objectives of the games usage are described in this paper.
The methodology of using the simulation games is presented in the paper, as well as the results of its using during the postgraduate studies. At the end of paper the conclusions of students’ evaluation of the efficiency of the packet using in education are presented.Keywords:
