Abstract:
Cooperation between university and the employer is the basis for adapting learning programs in higher education to current job market requirements. It also prevents, at least in part, "the production of the unemployed" graduates. At the moment this phenomenon is unfortunately quite common across the European Union (EU). On the other hand, precisely matched competencies that have graduated from university, clearly reduces the time of its implementation in the workplace. Reduced time (and training effort) results in measurable profits for the employer. Increasingly, employers in the area of ICT indicate social competence, as next to the professional one, extremely important for graduate computer science at the workplace. Social competencies also appeared in the new educational standards, such as the ACM-IEEE Computing Curricula 2013 (CC2013). In many universities, however, they are marginalized and attached to main subjects, such as Software Engineering.

The article presents the survey results of employers - ICT companies. It covered meeting their needs for employees, costs (time consuming) of new employee training, the required professional and social skills, which graduates of computer science do not have. The results also point to the most wanted positions in the ICT companies (from the process and activity areas perspective) and a general shortage of new employees. The surveyed companies declared forms of cooperation with the institution of higher education - their analysis are also presented in the article.
The survey results have allowed developing conclusions on directions and collaboration tools on line university-employer. They were presented in the article.
