Abstract:
Pupils grow up under the influence of dynamically developing technologies that surround them daily. They share, consume, and create digital content. The presented article focuses on the socially important topic of protecting the privacy of pupils in the digital environment. The main goal is to define the concept of student privacy concerning the European Digital Competence Framework recommendations. The introductory part of the research study defines the concept of privacy and privacy protection. The following section is devoted to digital competencies, which focus on the ability to identify and successfully solve a variety of situations leading to the safe use of information and communication technologies and to the protection of pupils from unwanted interference of any kind in their private. The conclusion of the presented research study focuses on other possible risk factors related to insufficient or absent protection of the privacy of pupils in the digital environment.
