Abstract:
The subject of the presented research report is the situation of street children and streetworkers during covid 19 pandemic with a special focus on outreach methods of education, support and assistance. The research diagnosed the needs and problems of street children and streetworkers. The research was conducted as part of the project: S.O.S. suport for streetworker’s organizations. The project coordinator is Polish Streetworker’s Federation. The research involved 14 Polish NGOs that volunteered to participate in the project. Thirty members of these organizations were interviewed. The research was qualitative in nature. The research methods were: interview and observation. A total of 60 hours of interviews were collected. The research procedure included conducting the interview and its recording, transcription, authorization. Streetworkers answered questions related to the situation of street children in Poland during covid 19 pandemic in the context of school education, family and local environment. The research concluded that in the face of the helplessness of the ruling elite, streetworkers mobilized grassroots forces. It has been possible to organize a system of help, support and education for street children in both street and on line spaces. The talk will present detailed findings from the research.
