Abstract:
Hospitals have an important position in ensuring national security. From the perspective of internal security, they are an important soft target from the perspective of crisis preparedness and are included among the critical infrastructure elements in most European Union countries. It is important for the functioning of the state to ensure the functionality of hospitals in any situation. However, the state can only ensure the external crisis preparedness factors of hospitals. The hospital itself has a fundamental influence on ensuring the crisis preparedness of hospitals. The factor of staff training plays an important role in the preparedness of hospitals. Each hospital is or will be forced to determine the needs of staff training in hospital crisis preparedness for various situations related to the internal security of the state. This paper aims to identify the key areas of medical staff training with regard to ensuring crisis preparedness of hospitals and to identify the staff who need to be trained and to what extent. From the research of crisis situations in the world with impact on hospitals, the staff has emerged as the key and weakest part of the overall preparedness of the facility. Ensuring that medical staff are educated on safety issues, will improve the provision of crisis preparedness for hospitals.
