Abstract:
The use of mobile phones and online applications as a tool in teaching and learning has become part of the education system. The challenge for educators and researchers is to explore how mobile technologies can support student learning, motivation, and self-efficacy.
The four-week study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the mobile application in teaching the main concepts of the selected topics included in the master's course in educational psychology compared to traditional activities. We applied a quasi-experimental research design with a pre-test and a post-test to determine the differences between the knowledge of the control (n = 18) and the experimental group (n = 18) created using convenience sampling. The results indicate that participants in the experimental group performed significantly better on some variables in the post-test, demonstrating the effectiveness/suitability of the mobile application used in this study in learning educational psychology concepts. The study also provides recommendations for using mobile applications in teaching university subjects.
