Abstract:
The current situation due to the Covid-19 pandemic affects all aspects of life. Individual countries are struggling with the effects of the pandemic. Many are introducing lockdowns within their countries, closing individual institutions, restaurants, centres, factories, restricting the movement of people, eliminating physical contact and introducing many preventive measures. Due to the Covid-19 crisis, individual educational institutions were forced to switch from full-time to distance education. As part of distance education, individual institutions had to react promptly and adapt their educational process. The article briefly defines the method of teaching at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Technical University in Košice during the Covid-19 pandemic. The paper analyses the view of students and teachers on distance education. The study focuses on the analysis of the educational process, specifically on its form, methods and tools used during teaching. At the same time, the study analyses the ways of evaluation, communication and change of the structure of the curriculum. The educational process is analysed from two perspectives, namely from the perspective of students and teachers. The paper provides an overview of the ways and methods that individual teachers used in distance learning and subsequently, as the above methods and methods were evaluated by the teacher and the students themselves. Communication and proper understanding of the problem is an important factor influencing the effective management of crisis situations. Based on the above, the study also focuses on the analysis of communication between students and teachers and students and faculty management. The conclusion of the research analyses and compares the educational process before and during the pandemic.
