Abstract:
Inequalities and gender imbalances are a current problem in society and the Sciences of Physical Activity and Sport is no stranger to this situation. Although the presence of women in the field of physical activity has increased, it is evident that there is still a long way to go to achieve real equality. One context from which we can intervene to eradicate or mitigate this problem is the educational centre, so it is necessary to raise awareness and train future Physical Education teachers. Along these lines, the aim of this study is to promote equal competences among students of Sciences of Physical Activity and Sport, using digital video. The use of digital video, as an instrument of innovation in teaching, aims to generate new knowledge between teachers and students, offering answers to the socio-cultural challenges and problems of our environment. In the experience carried out in the academic year 2018-2019 105 students have participated. At the end of the project, the students stress that the use of video has enabled them to better understand the values of equality and gender equality in sport, that they have understood and become aware of the importance of respect for diversity in sport, that they have understood the importance of training students in ethical values in sports practice and that they have discovered new ways of promoting equality in their future professional performance. They emphasize the possibility that the video has given them to visibilize problems of society and that they have understood the importance of egalitarian education in early ages. They also state that they have acquired technical and technological skills for video editing and that they have been able to select and use technology creatively. Finally, they state that they have developed collaborative working skills, such as sharing resources and information with peers, making decisions, organizing and distributing tasks. It is concluded that the digital video, in the experience, has been an effective ally for the sensitization of the students and to promote a practical and procedural learning of equality and equity in sport.
