Abstract:
It is when circumstances get worse that the resilience and adaptability of institutions are demonstrated. In times of crisis and reclusion like those imposed by pandemics, reinventing themselves is mandatory for informal learning actors. In 2020, we witnessed the diverse strategies used by museums and other cultural institutions to reach people of all ages through computer networks.

Through the assessment of statistics obtained with Google Trends, this paper examines the search flows before and after the start of the lockdowns around the world, the type of information sought (virtual visits to heritage sites, experiences or virtual tours proposed by museums, etc.), the number of visits, the use of teaching material made available by the institutions, and the users' places of origin. Then, after a review of the most successful initiatives proposed in this sense worldwide, a SWOT analysis is conducted to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of these educational proposals. The results of this analysis can provide very useful data for the field of "Research and diagnostic methods in Education".
