Abstract:
The Technical University of Madrid (UPM in the remainder) is aware of the importance of core competences in the working environment and it is therefore making a big effort to establish a standardized model for the training and assessment of such competences for the whole University. One of the competences prioritised at UPM is the analysing and summarizing skills. This paper shows in detail the model developed in the UPM. First, the competence guide will be explained, its objective being to propose a unified model to evaluate the competence acquisition for all the university community. One of the main points of this guide is the presentation of a set of assessment rubrics to define the level of acquisition of the competence. This guide has been tested with several pilot experiences, two of which will be explained in detail in this paper. These experiences have allowed us to validate and improve the model.
