Abstract:
The article is devoted to examining different methods of introducing integrative approach to teaching EFL within the framework of higher education. The significance of the issue is determined by the necessity to teach students apply their knowledge of the English language to solving specific professionally-oriented tasks. English language classes provide the teacher with great opportunities for the implementation of inter-subject relations. Being very dynamic, integrative approach can be implemented in various ways, both in the classroom, and as extracurricular activities.

One of the biggest advantages of using integrative approach in teaching English is that it is able to improve the quality of education on the whole, giving practical orientation to classes. Integrative course broadens the horizons of students, contributes to the development of their creative abilities, and introduces students to research activities.

The current experiment has proved the efficiency of the integrative classes with students of B1, B2 and higher levels of English. A sample lesson plan is given as a model of inter-subject collaboration.

The results of the student survey illustrate an immense interest in suchlike educational approach, since learning English for professional use is their first priority.
