Abstract:
From the realistic point of view educational reforms in Georgia are directed to the creation of a modern competitive educational environment. Among of these reforms, important changes are directed to the transforming of economics education as Georgia chose a new form of economics which is connected to realization of the next important components:
a/ Transition from the planned economy to market economy;
b/ Fast development of Information and Communication Technology;
c/ Process of globalization.

The work covers the issue and analysis of studying trends in the educational programs of economic education.
The main goal of the research paper is to analyze teaching and learning process and to identify the main trends of the development of economic education for the competitive market economic environment in Georgia.

The work contains two parts. In the first part of the paper is considered and analyzed the transformation of education in conditions of market economy under influence of information and communication technology development that is based on:
• the motivation of the transformation of education in conditions of market economy;
• the influence of information and communication technology development;
• the need requirements of formation of people with their education, qualification, professional experience which determine opportunities of changes in a society;

In the second part of the paper is studied economics of education by the parameters which define trends of:
• Business education development;
• The investments into the human capital;
• The dynamics of the salary;

In the frame of the goal are researched and analyzed the main problems, namely:
a/ Teaching approach for promotion and delivery of the high quality, student centered university teaching with academic research;
b/ The directions for creation of the competitive market economic environment;
c/ The higher education system as a bridge between teaching and learning, research, critical thinking and final knowledge and HE system as a supporter for the state as a driver of economic development;
d/ The growing impact of education on earning inequality, statistical issues in determining the rate of return to education,
e/ The teaching methods in business education;
f/ The dynamics of the salary of one big region “Shida Kartli” of Georgia.

The results of the research are presented for higher economic educational programs to assist quality assurance specialists’ and programme leaders for understanding educational trends in economics.
