Abstract:
Cloud is one of the upcoming things in Information Technology age which proposes to drastically change the way business is done. The proposed paper conducts a detailed literature survey and uses grounded research theory to study the business opportunities available on cloud, the adoption of cloud computing and cloud based services being offered in developed and developing (with a special focus on Indian companies) countries.
Cloud computing is very well established now. In future it will redefine the way of consuming services being provided by service providers and the way services are provided by them. It is expected to open up a whole new world for business to offer their services to a larger customer base and in a more efficient and secure manner. Cloud computing platform essentially replaces the methodology of provisioning of Information Technology (IT) services. Instead of owning, managing and/or outsourcing the usage of technology (both hardware and software) organizations can use cloud based services which imply using a flexible, on-demand, and rapidly scalable model that require neither ownership on their part, nor provision of dedicated resources. Few benefits of cloud computing are - reduced cost, flexibility and increased automation. Cloud computing has several architectural infrastructure models. The study below proposes to perform a comparative analysis of the business opportunities available on cloud, the adoption of cloud computing and cloud based services being offered in developed and developing countries.
