Abstract:
This article deals with the methods of solving mathematical problems. Each and every teacher of Mathematics needs appropriate mathematical problems to present the theory explained. The solution of the problem itself requires a schemed procedure, which will enable a student to see the theory involved more clearly. We present here a possible approach to problem solving, which consists of problem analysis, a scheme of the given data, searching for a method of solution, application of the method followed by a solution verification. Many times it seems appropriate to add a discussion about the solution and form a clear conclusion. The analysis of the solution is recommended, too. We present the suggested scheme of problem solving on mathematical problems from secondary schools. These will focus mainly on the motion problems and problems from geometry, which request a proof, as these problems present a particular problem for students. Each problem is solved in two different ways for better understanding of the given topic.
