Abstract:
The use of new techniques of teaching has been implemented not only to catch the interest of young people but also to involve them in the conservation of the environment through cultural activities such as painting, dancing, and sporting.

In this case in particular, in the northern part of Mexico City it exists a community called Vista Hermosa, which is precisely located next to Sierra de Guadalupe, a natural area protected by the authorities, and, also on the steep slopes of the Cuautepec area. The community is made up of people that came from different states of the country which gives rise to their interest in the conservation of the environment. The community uses a cultural house facility where they organize and execute cultural activities for the population of the community. Their main activities are painting using the stencil technique, not only do they paint on sheets of paper, but also, they have painted murals to show others their art. Another cultural activity is dancing, the teachers that are from other states, teach young people and kids significant dances that are endemic to their places. The last is sports, they practice, basketball, soccer, boxing, and Zumba, to involve people of all ages.

The purpose of this work is to show how the community involves its people in education by using different techniques that have been implemented at the entrance of the natural protected area mentioned above where they make activities in order to raise awareness about the environment and the importance of the group work.

The methodology consisted of visiting the area itself and having a meeting with the representatives of the house of culture who guided us to the entrance where they have been working with kids and young people to paint the walls using stencil. Then we made a guided visit through the conservation area where they tend to show visitors the importance of such area.

The results show the murals, their programmed activities, and the involvement of young people in environmental protection and respect which can serve to sensitize young people in order to them to take actions that can contribute to develop more activities in the community, and to show the youngest the cultural heritage that they will inherit.
