Abstract:
This study examined the relationship between institutional re-structuring and delivery of 21st century university education in Cross River State, Nigeria. Three research questions guided the study, while one research hypotheses was tested in the study. The descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study comprised all the students in University of Calabar and Cross River University of Technology. The sample of the study comprised 400 students selected accidentally from the two universities. The instrument for data collection was a structured questionnaire titled “Institutional Re-structuring and Delivery 21st Century University Education Questionnaire (IRDCUEQ). The questionnaire was subjected to reliability test and was found reliable at 0.81 and 0.84 r-values. The research questions were answered using descriptive statistics (Mean and Standard Deviation), while data for the hypothesis were analyzed using Pearson product moment correlation statistics (r). The result of the study revealed that the level of implementation of next generation classroom system, implementation of open access library system and delivery of 21st century university education is low in the institutions and that institutional re-structuring has a significant relationship with the delivery of 21st century university education in Cross River State. Based on this result, it was recommended that universities in Cross River State should fully implement next generation classroom system and open access library system, to enhance effective delivery of 21st century university education in the State
